Many children experience learning as pressure, frustration and daily overwhelm. Even with effort, homework and support at home, progress may remain slow — and confidence often begins to suffer.

Parents can feel helpless too: homework becomes a source of conflict, motivation drops, and worries about school development grow.

At Learning Explorers, I support children individually, empathetically and with a strong professional foundation. My goal is not only better school performance, but above all helping children rebuild trust in their own abilities.

Because every child can learn — when they find the path that truly fits them.

About Me

Hello, I'm Yvonne.

Learning Explorers was founded on the belief that children do not struggle because they lack intelligence — they often struggle because the learning approach does not match the way they think, feel and process information.

As the mother of a child with dyscalculia, I understand the worries, uncertainty and challenges families face not only from a professional perspective, but also from personal experience. I know how stressful school can become when a child feels misunderstood or „not good enough" every day.

That is exactly why this work matters so much to me.

I love working with children and teenagers, and I see every day how much they can grow when they are taken seriously, treated with respect and supported through their individual strengths.

At Learning Explorers, the focus is not on pressure or performance alone. The focus is on the whole child. With patience, understanding and strength-based learning therapy, we create a safe space where children can rebuild confidence in their abilities.

Through my direct work in schools and cooperation with schools across Berlin — especially international and bilingual schools — I support children from many different learning and family backgrounds. I also offer learning therapy in English.

In addition, I work closely with youth welfare offices to support children and families and to develop individual solutions.

My goal is not only to help children academically, but to give them courage, confidence and new perspectives for the long term.

Understanding Learning — Strengthening Children

Learning difficulties such as dyscalculia, dyslexia/LRS or attention difficulties are often misunderstood. Many affected children are seen as unmotivated or „too slow", although they often work much harder than others. These children do not need more pressure. They need individual support, emotional safety and learning strategies that match their needs.

Areas of Support

Dyscalculia

Understanding numbers instead of memorising procedures

For children with dyscalculia, mathematics can become a source of frustration and anxiety. Together, we build mathematical understanding step by step — visually, playfully, without pressure and with plenty of patience. The goal is not only better calculation skills, but also more confidence and security when dealing with numbers.

Dyslexia / LRS

Learning to read and write in a way that fits the child

When reading or writing becomes stressful, many children lose their joy in learning. Through targeted and strength-based support, I help children develop letter-sound awareness, reading confidence, spelling strategies and trust in their own abilities.

ADHD & Concentration

Learning with structure, clarity and understanding

Children with attention difficulties often need different learning strategies — not more pressure. Together, we develop individual ways to structure learning, strengthen motivation and reduce overwhelm.

Learning Coaching

Learning how to learn

Some children do not need traditional tutoring. They need support in understanding how learning works for them. In learning coaching, I help students develop self-organisation, motivation, concentration and personal learning strategies.

My Approach
Every child learns differently

Specialised in individual learning paths

At Learning Explorers, I look beyond grades to see the whole child. Many learning difficulties do not come from a lack of ability, but from the fact that each child thinks, learns and processes information differently.

01

Learning at eye level

Children learn best when they feel understood and respected. That is why I work in a warm, appreciative and strength-based way — without additional pressure.

02

Holistic support

Sustainable progress happens when family, school and learning therapy work together. That is why I support not only the child, but also parents, teachers and educational institutions.

03

Individual support instead of standard solutions

Every child receives individual assessment, tailored learning therapy and specifically developed learning materials. Successful support begins when children are truly seen in their uniqueness.

How it works

Three steps towards successful learning

01
Step 01

Getting to know each other

A free initial consultation by phone or in person. We get to know each other, and I listen carefully to what is currently challenging your child.

02
Step 02

Assessment

A professional assessment helps me understand where your child currently stands and which strengths they bring. Based on this, I develop an individual therapy plan.

03
Step 03

Therapy

In regular sessions, we work together with joy, structure and measurable progress. Parents remain involved throughout the process.

Yvonne Friedrich — Learning therapy with joy

Let's take the first step together

Every child deserves the chance to learn with joy, confidence and trust in their own abilities. If you are concerned about your child's academic or emotional development, I would be happy to support you on this path.
